Perhaps we'll be famous?
So we've decided to apply for an interior design renovation show. If you've ever watched W Network, you've probably seen Divine Design. It features top designer Candice Olson and her team who take people's uninspired rooms and redesign them to be absolutely gorgeous. Her style is contemporary and tailored to her clients. And of course the show is always looking for new spaces to redesign.
After about six months of debate, I have officially decided to submit our application for the show. Our kitchen is original to our house, which was built in the 80's. It certainly fits Candice's "uninspired" category - it features oak wood cabinets, a closed floorplan, and very little storage. Although everything technically works, I hate cooking in it because it is completely closed in at the front of the house. I feel isolated while the rest of the family relaxes in our living room at the back of the house.
So I've applied for Candice to consider redesigning our kitchen. We have lots of ideas of our own for the space, we just don't really know where to start! I definately want it open to the dining/living room. I would love new cabinetry with lots more storage, and new appliances. Tile backsplash. Nickle accents. New sink, faucet. Flooring. Etc. And in the process I'm hoping we can give our living room a facelift too - you know, new flooring, furniture, paint...
Anyhow, I highly doubt we'll be accepted for Divine Design. We are located outside of Toronto and they really want to feature homeowners within the GTA... Ah well, I guess its worth a shot, right? One can hope!
